That wacky Mike Luckovich

Oh yeah. Another gem from the AJC’s award winning opinion cartoonist, Mike Luckovich.

Ho! Ha! See....get it? So funny.

Ho! Ha! See....get it? So funny.

I tell you, Mike is a freakin’ comic genius. See, it’s a parody of John McCain. And do you get it? HE’S OLD. Isn’t that an absolute riot?

One can tell why Mr. Luckovich wins so many awards. It’s his subtlety. You see, any hack cartoonist can draw the imagery of someone telling McCain about the Internet. But to really, really, really drive the point home, our Atlanta treasure goes even deeper by invoking the “Murder She Wrote” reference.

Get it?

Take a second to let it sink in if you don’t. Google it if it still doesn’t come to you.

Want a hint?

Ah, OK. I’ll tell you, although it’s not going to be nearly as funny:

You see, OLD PEOPLE watch “Murder She Wrote.” Preferably from the comfort of their easy-lift chair in their nursing home while waiting for Bingo hour at 3 and then a late supper at 4.

John McCain is OLD. Woo! What a riot. That’s awesome, Mike. Keep it up. Because no one’s brought it up yet. I mean, I bet Saturday Night Live will pick up on this, and maybe do a sketch where McCain is having a hard time hearing and he’s got some ribbon candy stuck together in a crystal jar on his desk (because lots of old people have ribbon candy. Trust me on this one — I know some old people)….wait, they did this already? Huh.

Congrats. You’re a trendsetter. Nothing drives the voters out to the polls more than to vote against the old guy. The New Yorker ain’t got nothing on you.

Hey Mike, how about doing a couple cartoons depicting Bush with big ears and being clueless? Or maybe a few with Hillary being a shrill harpy?

At this rate, I’ll just re-up my AJC subscription for life. Because with content like that (not to mention the genius of Jay Bookman and the always awesome Terence Moore), there’s no need for vigilante paperboys (note to self: ask Cynthia Good if paperboy is still ok) to ask for my two dollars….
